Transforming Lives by Changing Smiles
As an orthodontist, I have the chance to transform people’s self-esteem and confidence. Orthodontic treatment improves oral health, function, and the smile. It’s amazing to watch a person move through treatment, seeing them grow and change as they see their teeth move into the right position.
No two patients are the same: each has their own clinical issues and personal concerns and goals. I tailor treatment to each patient, focusing on efficient care that delivers the highest-quality results. I want patients to complete treatment with a smile they love and to have enjoyed every step of the journey!
My father was a dentist and I’m married to a pediatric dentist. Growing up, I always knew I wanted to work in the dental field. I chose orthodontics as I like the aesthetic component, combined with the science. Each day presents its own challenges and I constantly have to think of new techniques and approaches to solve each patient’s malocclusion.
It’s incredibly rewarding to see the happiness on a patient’s face when we’re finished and I show them their before and after photos. They can’t look away from the mirror and are unable to stop grinning! — Dr. Karl Swenson
