Coronavirus Update in Cedar Rapids

Dear Elite Orthodontic Families,

With the rapidly changing challenges brought about by the threat of COVID-19 we are taking steps to ensure that our patients and team are protected. In an effort to keep you informed about the measures we are taking and our schedule, we ask that you read the following:

Patients with Symptoms:
In the event that an orthodontic patient or family member has symptoms related to COVID-19 or influenza (fever, persistent cough, shortness of breath) we ask that you not come to the office and reschedule to an appropriate time (minimum 2 weeks later).

Extra Family Members at Appointments:
As a temporary measure, we ask that you limit to one extra person accompanying the patient inside the clinic. We ask that extra family members wait outside of the office. We understand that some parents may need to wait in the car with other children. We can discuss your child’s appointment over the phone as necessary.

When you arrive to your appointment, please stay in your car and contact our office by Text (319-364-4222) or call the office to check-in. We will then contact you as soon as your clinic chair is ready.

Measures we are taking:
We will adhere to any state or local recommendations and will follow CDC and ADA guidelines and updates as they are available. Our staff is having temperature taken and recorded to ensure we are healthy. We will clean/disinfect common areas multiple times daily, including extra measures to clean items commonly touched (i.e. door handles).

Additional Precautions:
Masks will be required by all who enter the office. Please bring one with you to wear.  Forehead temperatures will be taken with a “no-contact” thermometer upon arrival. Any temperature above 100.5 will have to be rescheduled.

In closing, the safe care of our patients and staff is of the utmost importance. All of us are hopeful the COVID-19 event will pass soon. Please keep a lookout for future updates on Facebook and please call or email the office at any time if questions.
